Hemp seed milk is a delicious dairy-free, nut-free, plant-based milk. It’s light and nutty in flavour, and only requires two main ingredients, hemp seeds and water!
I like to add some maple syrup and a little vanilla extract to sweeten it up, but that’s up to you…
I’ve always been intolerant to dairy, so I love that we can grow hemp right here in Dorset to provide us with a plant based alternative that is super nutritious and tastes great..
Try sweetening it with some yummy local honey or add 10g of cacao powder to make chocolate milk.
Don’t forget your five a day… you could add 25g of berry’s, maybe a banana or avocado to thicken it up like a smoothie?
The options are endless and it’s great fun experimenting to find your favorite flavour.
How to make hemp seed milk
- Add the hemp seeds, water, salt, maple syrup and vanilla extract to your blender and blitz for a minute, taste, add more salt, syrup or vanilla if needed.
- strain through a cheese cloth or nut bag and a funnel directly in to a glass bottle or a jug your can pour from.
- Store in the fridge from up to 2-3 day
- If your adding fruit and you like it thick there’s no need to strain, best to use it right away and enjoy…
